How MakeReceipt.ai may & may not be used

1. Permitted uses

MakeReceipt.ai exists to make a routine task easier: reconstructing a receipt for a transaction that actually happened, or building a sample receipt for a context where no claim of authenticity is made. The following uses are supported and encouraged.

• Personal record-keeping

  Reconstruct a lost or damaged receipt so you can keep an accurate history of a purchase you actually made.

• Business bookkeeping

  Recreate a missing receipt for a transaction that occurred, so it can be entered into accounting software with the correct vendor, amount, date, and tax.

• Expense documentation

  Provide a substitute record of a legitimate business expense when the original receipt is unavailable, in line with your company's expense policy.

• Design mockups & prototypes

  Generate sample receipts for use in app screenshots, UI demos, product photography, training materials, film and TV props, or research.

• Education & research

  Create example receipts for teaching, academic research, fraud-detection training, or building datasets — provided the synthetic nature is disclosed.

2. Prohibited uses

You may not use MakeReceipt.ai, in whole or in part, to commit fraud or deception. The following are prohibited without exception:

• Submitting a generated receipt as proof of a purchase that did not occur.
• Requesting a refund, chargeback, return, or warranty service for goods or services you did not buy.
• Filing a generated receipt with a tax authority as evidence of a deductible expense that was not incurred.
• Claiming reimbursement from an employer, insurer, or third party for an expense you did not actually pay.
• Forging a receipt purporting to be issued by a specific merchant in order to deceive that merchant or a third party.
• Inflating or altering the amount, items, or date of a real transaction to misrepresent the original purchase.
• Using any part of the service to commit fraud, money laundering, tax evasion, or any other unlawful act.

We will cooperate with law-enforcement and merchant requests where there is credible evidence of fraudulent use, in line with our Privacy Policy.

3. Reconstructed-copy transparency

Every receipt produced by MakeReceipt.ai is a reconstructed copy, not an original document issued by the merchant. We make this distinction visible to users so there is no ambiguity about what the file is.

• Outputs include the label “Reconstructed copy” where possible.
• Merchant names, logos, and brand styling are used to make a familiar visual layout — the user is responsible for entering accurate transaction details that match a real purchase they completed.
• Removing or obscuring the “Reconstructed copy” label to pass an output off as an original receipt is a prohibited use.

4. Trademarks & brand names

Brand names and logos shown in templates are the property of their respective owners. We use them solely to reproduce a familiar receipt layout that customers of that merchant would recognise. MakeReceipt.ai is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the merchants represented in our templates. If you are a trademark owner and want a template removed or modified, contact us at support@makereceipt.ai.

5. Enforcement

We may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice:

• Suspend or terminate any account that violates this policy.
• Refuse to process or deliver outputs we believe are intended for fraudulent or deceptive use.
• Preserve and disclose account information to law enforcement, where required by law or in response to a valid legal process.
